Congregation Anshei Sternberg is a nonprofit 501(c)3 religious organization, serving the Orthodox community. Its principal mission is to enhance Jewish learning and practice through the summer camping experience and year round educational programs. Congregation Anshei Sternberg provides indigent Orthodox Jewish youth, with summer recreational activities and offers Jewish religious services, reunions and weekend retreats throughout the year. The Congregation's activities, includes organizing and maintaining grounds for a children’s camp, There is no charge for use of the facilities and the organization gives needy children an opportunity to spend a summer in a relaxing religious atmosphere. The Congregation's activities continue with-year round study, The Congregation provides underprivileged children continuous year round study. The Congregation’s philosophy is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for children in a serene and healthy country setting during the summer months. Camp gives children a chance to escape the heat and the exposure of the negative influences of the inner city. Through the many opportunities for creative expression under the supervision of well-trained staff members, our campers develop independence and responsibility. They are encouraged to grow to their full potential as unique individuals. Our philosophy is based on enhancing their Torah Education, with carefully planned daily activities and well-balanced nutritional meals. The Congregation hires professional teachers (and brings their families to the mountains) to secure the children‘s safety and protection. These teachers and counselors are the ones that show their caring devotion. They are a helping hand to the children to instill the proper ideas, with love for our tradition.
